Huntaway Lodge,

an authentic rural hideaway just 25 km north of Wellington, New Zealand’s capital City.

We built Huntaway Lodge using the traditional swedish cope method, the old fashioned way, using full round douglas fir logs.

At Huntaway, you will not only stay in a truely unique home, but you will experience the workings of an Alpaca stud farm as well as the minagery of other farm animals.

At Huntaway you can enjoy many activities or just relax in front of our large open fire.

You are more than welcome to use our pony and ride across the hills, Paul is an avid Harley rider and is always willing to get it fired up and take people for rides. 

We offer you a unique Kiwi experience.  Away from the hustle and bustle, but only approx. 20 minutes from the cities of Porirua, Lower Hutt, Wellington and Upper Hutt
